Client: Shanghai Urban Planning Design and Research Institute, Shanghai,
P.R.C.
MGP Information Systems Ltd. is the prime consultant for the Technical
Assistance Project (TA12) of the Shanghai Environment Project funded
by the World Bank. The objective of this project for the Shanghai
Urban Planning Design and Research Institute (SUPDRI) is to design
and implement the Strategic Planning Information System & Development
Tracking System (SPIS & DTS) to support SUPDRI's long term planning
and research for Shanghai urban development.
A comprehensive data model was designed for the database structure
of SPIS & DTS, which integrates land related data (e.g. parcels,
housing, transportation, utilities, etc.).
Integration is the key concept in the design. The full set of system
functions of SPIS & DTS are carefully designed to meet the business
requirements of Planning and Research in SUPDRI. These applications
have been developed and installed.
The project consulting team also designed an overall technology
architecture for SPIS & DTS and helped the client to prepare
the RFP for hardware and software procurement. MGP Information Systems
Ltd. provides and manages the international training program for
both management and technical staff of the client. This project
is expected to be completed by mid 2000.
